It’s been a while since we last gave you some news from the office so we thought it was high time we told you what was going on in our little corner of the world.
As many of you already know, Lisa left on maternity leave at the end of March to give birth to little Rhys, a healthy, wee cutie, and came to visit us before her 3-month trip to Ireland. She will return to the office at the beginning of next year if all goes according to plan.
To cover for her absence, the team welcomed experienced graphic designer and linguist Maria Marull who had already worked at TTS about 3 years ago. Maria has been a great addition to our team, and has efficiently and expertly taken on her role of project manager. Many of you have been in contact with her already.
Our other project manager, Shieva, left the country in May to go on an extensive trip across the United States and Europe. She has now settled in Berlin, Germany, and will be working remotely for TTS until April 2016. Her time abroad may include a trip to Iran to visit family and further develop her knowledge of Farsi, and a winter stay in a log cabin in the Alaskan backcountry.
A far less exotic piece of news is the Translation Service’s move to a more central location. We will be at Archives New Zealand at 10 Mulgrave Street until Friday 10 July, and reopen our doors at 109 Featherston Street on Monday 13 July. Feel free to come and visit us in our new premises!
Last but not least, we are currently working out the nuts and bolts of our foreign language transcription service as some of our clients are increasingly asking for this type of work. Do you have any experience in transcription or are you interested in carrying out that type of work? If so, please get in touch with Maria.
